Ross Noble

Last night I didnt get to see the popular BBC series The Apprentice, as I went to see a well known comedian Ross Noble. My girlfriend gave me the suprise and I thought, 'Cool, I dont know this guy and at £20 a ticket he must be good', how wrong I was. I dont know whether this is because the toilet humour on show is common in my workplace, but I just didnt get it. After the interval I was left wanting more, as it seemed so made up and just unfunny. I prefer comedians who are either clever or observe, and from what I can make out all Ross can do is make crude jokes and talk down about the city he is preforming in. My girlfriend was also unimpressed and we left in the encore, what a shower of shit.

On the plus side, in my quest to dig out heavy bassline fidget house with an old skool feel, for Hygro and RealBlunted on www.djforums.com/forums , I have found some corkers.

First from Mikix the Cat, French/German producer on Trouble & Bass Records, is the track Movin' Around.

The track starts of as a bass heavy sqealcher but soon erupts into a stabbing synth orgy, only for the bass to remerge and send the club goers into a frenzy. The breakdowns throughout with the echoed synths make this an old skool slice of action for the modern fidget house DJ.

Mikix The Cat - Movin' Around

Having played at the best nights in the UK including Room3 at Fabric at the famous 'Kill 'Em All' nights, this guy is becoming ever popular around Europe. See him soon at various dates in mainland Europe, in Holland, France and Germany.

On a different, if less old skool tip, is the well known party antehm Ritaiin, from the Nadastrom boys. They have been producing some great tracks as of late, including the recent remix of Tittsworth - WTF. With an EP on Dave 'Switch' Taylors label Dubsided and another in production this guys are only gonna get bigger and bigger!

Nadastrom - Ritaiin

Ritaiin although now several months old is still a great track starting with a nagging beat. This then breaks down to the most intense break down since Fake Bloods'-Mars. The exploding echoing synth followed by the echoing childrens voices always causes a great reaction. especially to those who are unfamiliar with the track. Heavy panting and old skool drum breaks and to the intensity before dropping to a bassline so phat that my laptop speakers distort. This is one track all fidget/electro DJs for late night madness!

Catch them soon in there native US of A....
